Helloooooo!
This Tag has been floating around on YouTube for awhile now and since I won't be able to post a Fashion Friday tomorrow (My wisdom teeth are being extracted, ouch!) I wanted to give my viewers something extra to read.
Originally called the 'Common White Girl TAG,' I edited it to read 'Common Girl TAG.' I think that no matter your skin color, this is a super fun tag and all girls should be able to participate, not just Caucasian. That being said, let's get started!
1. Favorite Starbucks drink?
I know this sounds absolute crazy and I'm probably breaking the rules of the tag, but I have never been to Starbucks, nor do I ever plan to. First off, I don't have the money for a $5 drink. My apologies, but when I can buy a whole meal for that amount, I'm not gonna spend it on a drink. Secondly, we don't even have one where I live. Instead, I like to visit this little drive-up coffee shop on my way to school. It's literally right on the way, fast, delicious and affordable. Typically I order some sort of frappe, usually Birthday Cake.
2. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
Typically it'll take me an hour for me to get ready and leave. I wake up at 7 and am leaving by 8. These are the days where I straighten my hair, rub on some BB Cream, swipe on mascara, pack my lunch/backpack and take off. If I'm actually trying to look good though, it takes me anywhere from an hour to two.
3. How many selfies do you take on a daily basis?
Absolutely zero. I'm not a big picture person, I'm a big writer.
4. How many Instagram followers do you have and how many pictures?
Maybe I'm not your typical girl, but I don't have an Instagram. I just don't see the point. Take pictures of yourself for the whole world to see? Yeah, you're funny.
5. Do you ever say 'LOL' of 'OMG' out loud?
Honestly people? No.
6. Do you wear the same clothing item more than once?
Yes, I'll admit, I do. Personally I don't understand why I wouldn't. Spend money on something, only to wear it once? In a week, I know I'll repeat my shorts or jeans maybe once, but I don't wear the same shirt or dress a lot. I like to mix it up and wear everything in my closet, not just the same stuff.
7. Are you racist?
No.
8. How many tweets do you have?
Okay, I am a little embarrassed about this number, but it's only small because I got Twitter a couple months ago and I'm not on it too often. 168.
9. Instagram, Twitter or Tumblr?
I don't like Instagram, don't even know what Tumblr is, okay, I vaguely do, but I don't have an account. So Twitter!!
10. What do you spend most of your time doing?
Working my two jobs and going to school or doing homework. I don't see how people have time for a whole lot more. I barely manage to write, much less see my friends or just chill.
11. Who are your favorite youtubers?
I have several actually. MissGlamorazzi, Beautybaby44, Organizedlikejen, Lindseystomp, and EleventhGorgeous.
12. How often do you do your nails?
Not that often. I'm always playing outside with the little sister or gardening or doing construction with my dad (we are in the process of building a guest bedroom) so I haven't done them in awhile.
13. Are you a shopaholic?
I do love shopping, but I wouldn't take it that far. I don't have the chance to go shopping that often, so when I do I but a TON of stuff, but I do love shopping.
14. How many times have you watched mean girls?
I don't even know how many. I just know I better be wearing pink when I do.
15. Do you own a lot of clothes?
What is your definition of a lot? My closet is full but my it may seem small to you. Or it might seem huge and stuffed. I think it all depends on your definition of 'a lot.' I don't really think so. There is always room!
16. Do you take pictures of your food before you eat it?
Sometimes. I'm gonna be honest, if food is beautiful and I paid good money for it, you bet that I'm gonna take a picture and save it.
17. Do you wear makeup everyday?
No. It's kind of a 'whenever I feel like it' thing, especially during school.
18. What are your average grades in school?
In high school, I averaged A's and B's, but I've set a goal to get all A's in college.
19. How do you usually style your hair?
I almost always straighten my hair. I have super thick hair and the only easy way to make it look presentable (not wavy and homeless) is to straighten it. I shower at night and style it in the mornings. I don't know why, but that has always been my routine. In the mornings I prep my hair with the TRESemme heat protectant spray and than I straighten away!
20. Do you always look presentable?
Kind of. At school? Of course I do. All my clothes match and I look put together. At home? Psh, I lounge around in basketball shorts and a tank-top. Not saying that isn't presentable, but when I wear it, it isn't.
That is the Common Girl TAG! Hope you guys enjoyed it and I'll see you sometime next week!

Sassafras Moon World Gifts
Hey everyone!
I have some big news... I got a second job! Receiving this job was a huge blessing and I'm so thankful. As many of you know, I already work at the Library in town, but because of my school schedule I only work there on weekends. I was looking for a M - W - F job; flexible hours, people I enjoy working with, close to home. Sassafras Moon is about 3 miles away from my house and I've always wanted to work there, so I scheduled an interview and was hired on the spot! I wanted to write today's post about Sassafras because not only did I get a job there, but I wanted to share with you what it is like working in a retail store and what Sassafras has to offer.
I started last Friday and love it already; how could I not? My bosses, Kay & Sally, are two of the sweetest people I've ever met. These sisters opened the store in 2008 and have done a fantastic job running it, as well as their online web site. The best way I can describe them? Forgetful, artistic, very creative and very scatterbrained. As this is my first time working as a sales associate, I wasn't sure what to expect when I walked through those glass doors. But Sally reassured me that while working at a store like Sassafras isn't hard, there are a lot of things to keep track of and keep organized, both of which I'm very good at. I'm excited to continue working there and learn my way around.
Sassafras is a very individual store, selling handmade items from across the world. We participate in Fair Trade; a global network that allows people in 3rd world countries, mainly women, to sell handmade goods in order to support themselves and their families. The items are all handmade and come from everywhere; India, Pakistan, Nepal, Peru and Chile are a couple examples. There are different organizations that sell these crafts, and Sassafras only buys from the companies that provide fair labor conditions, as well as environmental sustainability and community development.
While Sassafras Moon sells Fair Trade items, we also create hundreds of items in our studio. The ladies at Sassafras are nicknamed the 'Glass Ladies' as they create things from glass. For example, Kay makes stained glass windows from recycled glass. She cuts and shapes the glass, all by hand, than fits it and fires it, making a beautiful window or garden centerpiece. Her sister, Sally, makes glass jewelry, which I had the honor of helping with yesterday. Necklaces, earrings and bracelets (all made from beautiful stained glass) are displayed and sold in the store.
If you're in the area I encourage you to stop by the store and take a look at all that Sassafras has to offer!
Have a lovely day and remember... You are gorgeous!
